Equipment Management

Welcome to Equipment Management

The purpose of Equipment Management is to establish and maintain procedures that bring the University in compliance with Federal, State, and agency regulations that are requirements of the Universities awarded grants and contracts. Equipment Management reviews all transactions relating to the acquisition, modification, transfer and disposition of inventorial equipment assets in order to assist departments with the accuracy and maintenance of inventorial equipment records while adhering to University policy.

What is Equipment?

  • Non-expendable, tangible, personal property which has an acquisition cost of $5,000 or more
  • Is Freestanding, complete in itself, and does not lose its identity when affixed to or installed in other property
  • Has a normal life expectancy of one year or more

Responsibilities


  • Maintain property control records of all inventorial equipment (including fabrication orders)
  • Process all equipment acquisitions into the Inventory System
  • In coordination with departments, ensure that all equipment is identified, inventoried and recorded
  • Ensure that all University, State and Federal regulations are adhered to and followed

Location


Equipment Management Department Office

The Equipment Management Department is located in the Corporate Yard located between Linden and Watkins Drive. The office is located between Storehouse, Purchasing and, the Shipping and Receiving Dock.

Surplus Warehouse

The Surplus facility is located in the Corporate Yard located between Linden and Watkins Drive. Entering from the Linden Gate Entrance next to Parking Lot 23 Surplus is in the first building immediately to the right next to Fleet Services.

Contact and Hours of Service


The Equipment Management department is available between 7:30AM and 4:30 PM

The Excess Property(Surplus) Warehouse is typically available for viewing for campus employees between 1:00PM and 4:30PM. Please contact Ryan Charette or Judy Hodge to arrange a time to view excess property, please ensure you have a campus recharge prepared prior to arrival.
