UC Riverside students, faculty, staff and community members can take their next step toward international travel without ever leaving campus. Campus Business Services is hosting a two-day Passport Fair on April 7 and 8 from 10 AM to 3 PM at the Mail Services Building, offering U.S. passport applications and renewals on a walk-in basis. No appointment is needed: Attendees simply need to bring the documents outlined in the passport checklist and CBS staff will handle the rest, including taking passport photos on-site.
Campus Business Services became an authorized passport acceptance facility in 2024, making UCR one of the only UC campuses where students and employees can complete the full application process on campus. Since launching the service, we have processed hundreds of applications, with regular appointment slots available Mondays, Tuesday, Thursdays and Fridays, with walk-ins available on Wednesdays. The Passport Fair expands access even further by removing the need to schedule in advance, making it easy to get it done between classes or during a lunch break.
Whether you're preparing for a study abroad program, planning a family trip or simply want your passport on hand for future travel, the fair is designed to make the process as straightforward as possible. Completed applications are forwarded to the U.S. Department of State for processing, which typically takes six to eight weeks, so applying now means being ready well ahead of summer travel season.
For those who can't make it to the fair, passport services remain available by appointment year-round. Applicants must bring valid ID, proof of citizenship, a completed DS-11 form and payment by check or money order. Full details and the passport checklist are available at cbs.ucr.edu/passports.
